Hi, I’m Erica. I write cool stuff. If you're looking for a storyteller who loves promoting mission-driven organizations, let's talk

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs then spent eight years in Boston where I studied journalism, or as one of my professors called it, “the fine art of hanging out.” From there I worked in health care communications, and learned how to interview children with cancer and to translate medical jargon into words patients can actually understand.

A few years ago I moved back to Chicago. I fell in love with higher education marketing, started freelancing, and currently speak for the trees as a writer for the Chicago Botanic Garden (I’m basically the Lorax).

I now live in a cozy neighborhood, full of whimsical used bookstores with novels I like to wear as hats (see photo). In my free time I sing in a choir, plan overly ambitious road trips, and hang out with my cat, Rita.
