Erica Masini is an actor, writer, musician, and producer.

Erica is a multihyphenate artist based in Chicago. Starting out in Boston as a journalist, she built a career in nonprofit marketing at places like Mass General Hospital for Children, the Chicago Botanic Garden, and Northwestern University. In 2023, she rekindled her passion for acting and is just getting started.

Recent theatre credits: Chris Gorman in RUMORS (Parker Players Theater), Lord Capulet in ROMEO AND JULIET (Sandbox Theatre Collective), Harriet in POTUS; Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive (Green Shirt Studio), and Lydia Lubey in ALL MY SONS (Warehouse Theatre Company).

I'm a proud graduate of the Meisner Acting Program at Green Shirt Studio and have continued my training at Acting Studio Chicago and iO Theater.

I'm beyond thrilled to be playing the role of Jackie in Chicago filmmaker Zachery Green's upcoming feature film, "A Door That Opens Wide."

About the film: Set in modern day Illinois, the intertwined lives of two couples become complicated and deceitful when Paul accepts his repressed sexual identity causing them all to find a new normal.

It was a joy to work with creative collaborators and friends Nick Cartwright and Cordie Nelson on "Super Duper," a short film we devised and filmed in the summer 2026.

Our goal was to take a concept and write a script based solely on improvisation — a process that allowed us to play without attachment to outcome. We learned heaps in the making of this film, which was produced by Nick's company, Film in a Bag Productions.
